| Our Programs
Children's Learning Center offers a consistently positive environ-ment, highly individualized educational and behavioral programming and a dedicated, well-trained staff, all of which make it possible for even the most challenging children to achieve progress. By blending data-based behavior analysis with sincere care and concern for each individual child, CLC has created a unique family-like atmosphere where all children can learn and grow. CLC offers two programs:
Elementary School Program
2152 Central Avenue, Alameda, CA
(510) 769-2322
The Elementary School Program serves children grades K-5, with average student:staff ratios of 3:1. Staff includes one credentialed teacher and two or more assistants in each classroom. The students are those with Asperger's Syndrome, emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, mild developmental delays or mild autism. Through small classes and the CLC approach, students make substantial progress in the areas of academic skills, emotional functioning, self-esteem, and self-control. Outpatient Mental Health Services, which include individual, group, and family counseling, are available for AB3632 and EPSDT-eligible children.
Middle and High School Program
1910 Central Avenue, Alameda, CA
(510) 769-7100
The Middle/High School Program serves children grades 6-12. Each classroom has one credentialed teacher and two or more assistants. The students are those with Asperger’s Syndrome, emotional disturbances, learning difficulties, or mild develop-mental delays. Outpatient Mental Health Services, which include individual, group, and family counseling, are available for AB3632 and EPSDT-eligible children. The academic program offers preparation for the California High School Exit Exam and courses meet district requirements for graduation. Many students continue their education at community colleges. Vocational and life-skills training is the primary focus of one classroom, and older students often work part-time at off-campus jobs. Due to the expertise of our highly trained staff, students make significant gains in academic skills, emotional functioning, self-esteem, and self-control.
