The purpose of this position is to:
Provide sound, effective, individualized, academic and behavioral programming
to up to 14 students as part of a smoothly functioning educational team.
The most important duties of this position are to:
1. Develop and implement appropriate educational curriculum.
2. Conduct timely assessments of students including completion of progress
reports.
3. Manage and organize the physical classroom environment to promote learning,
including the develop-
ment of a classroom management system and class schedule.
4. Use effective teaching and behavior management strategies.
5. Follow all required procedures for students' Individualized Educational
Plans.
6. Supervise assigned staff effectively; conduct reviews and evaluations
in a timely manner.
7. Communicate effectively with parents.
8. Maintain education and behavioral records on each student.
9. Engage in safe practices with students.
10. Attend and participate in classroom meetings, day treatment meetings
if appropriate, staff meetings
and in-service training sessions.
11. Work cooperatively with other staff and ancillary personnel.
12. Participate in interviewing and recommending assistants and other
staff.
13. Participate in determining appropriate classroom placements for incoming
and transitioning students,
including observations in districts-of-origin or destination classrooms.
14. May provide reciprocal staff coverage for short-term unplanned absence
for another teacher.
15. Complete additional assignments as required by Supervisor.
The minimum education and/or experience for this position:
1. Valid California Teaching Credential (SH, LH, Ed. Spec. M/M, Ed.
Spec. M/S), or equivalent.
2. Continuing education as required by CTC for maintenance and renewal
of Credentials.
3. At least two years experience working with learning handicapped, special
education students.

Hours/Meetings
This is a full time position, with a 35 hour workweek averaging 7 hours
per school day. The workday begins at 8:30 a.m. Teachers are required
to attend all classroom meetings, staff meetings, and in-service training
sessions as scheduled.

The purpose of this position is to:
Create a training avenue for prospective teachers and to provide existing
credentialed teachers with assistance in their job responsibilities.
The most important duties of this position are:
1. Under the supervision of the classroom teacher: (i) assist with daily
and weekly scheduling, (ii) assist in curriculum development, (iii) become
involved in all aspects of classroom program, e.g., needs assessment and
testing, IEP development and attendance (when possible), (iv) planning
for and teaching individual and small groups, (v) academic data collection
and review.
2. Demonstrate effective behavioral management strategies.
3. Observe and assist students as they imitate and practice appropriate
classroom conduct, good work habits and effective performance of lesson
skills and tasks.
4. Demonstrate and perform as an effective model for appropriate classroom
and work habits.
5. Work cooperatively with teachers and other staff members.
6. Inform teacher of any student problems and maintain positive communication
with parents.
7. Participate in classroom meetings, staff meetings, and inservice training
sessions as scheduled.
8. Inform teacher of any personnel problems or conflicts that need to
be addressed.
The minimum education and/or experience for this position:
1. Enrollment in an accredited institution of higher learning in a program
leading toward a regular or
special education teacher credential or credential program, for a minimum
of 6 units per semester.
2. Six months continuous employment at CLC.
3. Staff evaluation at above-average or better.

14 students in a manner that extends and complements his/her skills to
the benefit of each individual student.
The most important duties of this position are that the employee:
1. Demonstrates effective behavioral management skills.
a. Uses positive interventions correctly.
b. Follows existing behavior change plans.
c. Assists in development of behavior change plans.
d. Implements various levels of behavior management, ranging from verbal
coaching to physical restraint, as needed.
e. Completes follow-up paperwork as necessary.
2. With sufficient guidance from teacher, develops and performs the curriculum
lessons and tasks required
by the teacher, using appropriate teaching strategies.
3. Models appropriate classroom conduct and work habits.
a. Uses appropriate verbal and physical behaviors with other staff and
students.
b. Keeps personal work area orderly and accessible.
c. Models appropriate coping and problem-solving strategies.
4. Works cooperatively with the teacher and other staff members.
5. Records student performance on the appropriate data keeping forms.
6. Assists the teacher in creating, completing and filing forms.
7. Assists the teacher in creating a physical environment favorable for
student progress.

The purpose of this position is to:
Assist the classroom teacher with up to 14 students in developing, implementing,
and evaluating behavioral programs that enhance each student's social,
emotional and academic progress.
The most important duties of this position are to:
1. Assist in the development and implementation of behavioral programs:
a. Conduct functional assessments.
b. Participate in the development of interim and positive behavior plans.
c. Collect and graph data on students' target behaviors and replacement
behaviors.
d. Participate in the evaluation and revision of behavior plans.
2. Present data for review during clinical meetings.
3. Demonstrate effective behavior management strategies.

The minimum education and/or experience for this position:
1. Completion of Level 4 Assistant Teacher or equivalent hands-on experience
with behavior analysis, or the
recommendation of the classroom teacher, the Program Coordinator or the
Executive Director and the
approval of the Clinical Director.
2. At least 8 hours formal classroom/workshop training in behavior analysis.
3. Demonstration of applied behavior analysis skills to include collaboration
with the Progam Coordinator
or the Clinical Director in the conduct of a functional analysis, or the
process of data collection with the
subsequent design, implementation and evaluation of a behavior change
plan.

1. Understanding of behavior analysis and data collection systems.
2. Ability to work with an ethnically and educationally diverse group

required by the teacher.
12. Participates in classroom meetings, staff meetings and in-service

15. Provides all required documentation to office to maintain eligibility
